You can ask others to donate by:
Use the Walker Contribution form:

• Print out the Walker Contribution Form (use as many as you need)
• Collect donations and get checks in person.
• Have checks made payable to STAR Inc.
  (STAR will record offline donations on the Walk Website)

Use the Online Fundraising Tool: (Recommended)

• You can create a fundraising “individual page,” or
• You can create a fundraising “team page.”
  Click on DONATE – we suggest you print the directions below to help you create own webpage.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREATING YOUR FUNDRAISING WEB PAGE

Please call Mike Petell at 203-846-9581 if you need any
assistance or have any questions in setting up your website.

1. Go to DONATE.
2. Once on the main STAR Walk, Roll & Stroll Donation page, click on Become a Fundraiser (blue banner).
3. Choose to Fundraise as an Individual, Create a Fundraising Team or Join a Fundraising Team.
4. This will take you to Step 1, Login Page. This page asks if you already have an account or not. If you do not have an account, you will be directed to the Create a Profile Page. Fill in your personal information, create a login name and a password and click Continue. (If you already have an account, login and you will be taken to the next step.)
5. This will take you to Create Your Fundraising Web Page. You will be asked to create a title for your page and to create your own web address.
6. In the "Team Fundraising" box click the "yes" if you are creating a Fundraising Team
7. Press the "Click on Continue" in the lower right hand corner
8. This will take you to the Edit Campaign Details tab on the Customize My Webpage.
9. Customize the messages on your page as you see fit. This is the place for you to tell your story, explain why you are involved with STAR and why you think it is so important to give.

SAMPLE: Welcome to my Fundraising Home Page! Please support my participation in the STAR Walk, Roll & Stroll on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT. All proceeds from the STAR Walk, Roll & Stroll will benefit the services and programs offered to infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities, including early intervention for infants and pre-schoolers; job development and training for adults; family support; respite care and residential living arrangements. Annually STAR supports over 600 individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in Fairfield County.

SAMPLE: “Corporate Name” is proud to have formed a corporate team to walk in the STAR Walk, Roll and Stroll on May 4, 2008 at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport. “Corporate Name” is committed to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Help us help them by supporting our walking team by making a donation today.

SAMPLE: Ever since Ariel graduated from high school this past June, she has been attending the STAR program. STAR has individualized a program for Ariel that has allowed her to pursue her dream of independence. From her work program, to her community program, to her enriched recreational program, Ariel's life is busier than ever! STAR Walk, Roll and Stroll will take place on May 4, 2008. The money raised will benefit infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities. If you wish to make a contribution, you may do so online. In addition, if you can walk with "Team Ariel", please register for this event by clicking on the above site. If you are unable to join us but wish to make a contribution, you may donate online to support the wonderful agency that allows all our stars to shine! Thank you from us all! The Levy Family

You can add pictures by Uploading Images from your computer or Selecting an Image from the list by clicking on the arrow next to “None”.

1. YOU MUST GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THE RIGHT OF THE PAGE AND CLICK ON SAVE AND FINISH.
2. Select Layout Design. Select one of the 6 layout design options. Click SAVE AND FINISH.
3. Select Color Scheme. Here you can change your font size, colors and background. After making your selections click SAVE AND FINISH.
4. To email to your friends, we suggest that you click “Invite Others to Contribute”
   Enter the information requested and follow the prompts OR
   Enter only your own email address as recipient and press “send.”
5. Check your email.
   1. Open the email you sent to yourself. Select “Forward.” Make any changes you wish to your message. The more personal the better. We advise that your message comes first followed by the link to the site. You may want to ask your friends to also forward to their friends.
   2. Insert the email addresses from your address book that you wish to mail. You may want to use the BCC section in order protect the confidentiality of your addressees.

CHECK YOUR PROGRESS TOWARD YOUR GOAL ON A REGULAR BASIS by visiting
www.starinc-lightingtheway.org and clicking on the DONATE button above

Once you have created/customized your page, you can always go back and update/change
the Campaign Details, Layout Design or Color Scheme if you want to.

To Make Changes to your webpage:

1. Go to www.activegiving.com
2. Enter your User Name and Password.
3. Click on Campaign Center
4. Click on whtever part of your webpage you want to update.
