Rubberband of STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way…
Performs at Super Spring Sunday Benefit Concert on Sunday

May 15, 2009: Rubberband, a musical group of musicians with and without developmental disabilities, will perform at the Super Spring Sunday Concert along with 4 other bands this Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The music festival takes place at Calvin Reformed Church at 19 Lexington Avenue in South Norwalk and benefits STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way… Entrance to the parking lot is by Lubrano Place.

The concert will include performances by several other groups, including Redeemed (Christ the Redeemer Youth Ministry Band), IMPACT, Remembering (comprised of Tom Mackno, Pete Klein, Sam Wuhrer and Frank Carmine), and the duo of Laurie Cellini and John Maci.

John Mackno, organizer of the event and organist at Calvin Reformed Church said, “We’re looking forward to this concert. There is a lot of quality contemporary spiritual music in this area and it is a great opportunity to bring everyone together through music in support of STAR.”

STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way is a not–for-profit organization serving individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities, as well as providing support services to their families. We create opportunities for individuals to live full lives with independence, freedom of choice and personal growth by providing support, services and advocacy. We inform and encourage the community to recognize and appreciate the value of all individuals.
