RESIDENTIAL SERVICES AT STAR
STAR provides residential supports to assist individuals with developmental
disabilities live comfortably and safely in their home. We offer assistance with
daily life for those in group homes, cluster apartments, supported living
arrangements as well as those in their own homes, condos or rental properties.

In-Home Support
STAR provides services to support people in their own home or the family home. Services include assistance with functional skills, safety practices, health needs, communication skills, recreational activities and financial management skills.
Support services are provided through a team approach that includes the participant, family members and care givers.
Supported Independent Living Services
Individuals experience independent living with a level of supervision that allows them to develop and utilize their skills. Individuals live in their own homes, condominiums or rental properties.

Supported Community Living
Individuals experience independent living in a group home environment that includes supervision and/or support. In this environment, people can develop and strengthen their independent living skills, work skills, interpersonal relationship skills, community involvement and self-sufficiency.
STAR Residences
Approximately 75 individuals are supported each year living in STAR operated Group Homes and Supported Apartments. Individuals receive training, supervision and support in order to live full and productive lives.
Emergency Residential Services – Respite Care
STAR offers respite services, providing a home to individuals while their families are away or unavailable. Respite is also available for emergency shelter to individuals in crisis. Individuals can stay overnight up to 90 days per year.
