Ryan House
Ryan House is home to four lucky STAR participants. Located just around the corner from the Norwalk Senior Center, Ryan House caters to the growing needs of our aging population. The focus is on the "quality" of the lives of the individuals we serve. When not attending the STAR workshop or STAR Senior Program, our residents engage in group and individual activities, including, but not limited to:
Growing flowers or vegetables, exercising in the pool, browsing tag sales, attending dances, music concerts and the occasional festival. We indulge in the creative arts, encourage the pursuit of spiritual fulfillment and celebrate our ethnic diversity. Or, one can simply sit in the front yard and wave to the friendly neighbors.
It is dependent upon one's personal definition of "quality".

Stoler House
Stoler House is unique in many ways. The house opened in the middle 80's and many of the residents living here today have lived together since then. They and their families have grown together and there is a real family atmosphere in the house. Many of the staff have also worked at Stoler House for many years. One staff member will be coming up on her 18th anniversary at the house and another staff member on her 14th. This is very rare and is a definite asset for those who live here. The residents have truly benefited from their trust, knowledge, love and consistency.

Murray Street House
Driving up to Murray any visitor immediately senses the warm atmosphere of the home. The yard is well kept with flowers and flower boxes everywhere. There's even a bird feeder and an American Flag in the back yard that one of the residents wanted to purchase this year to enjoy. The flowers were planted and are maintained by the one female and two males who reside here.
Each of the residents has their own schedule based upon their jobs. Two of the residents are competitively employed in the community and use Dispatch A Ride through the Norwalk Transit Department. All three of the residents are also involved in their community including fitness programs, Special Olympics, and church.
During the past year some highlights at the Murray Street House have included:
- resident achieving his dream of marriage and his own apartment.
- resident achieving his dream of getting a cat to love and care for.
